Sono-Tek Corporation, the leading developer and manufacturer of ultrasonic coating systems, has announced that it has received a substantial order from an existing clean energy customer. This order, valued at $2.19 million, is the second part of a multi-system program.

The order includes three production scale systems, following a previous order for one production scale system. The first system is scheduled to ship in the current fiscal year, while the additional three systems are expected to be shipped in the first half of fiscal 2025.

This customer initially purchased an R&D system from Sono-Tek for development purposes before progressing to the production scale systems. The new order marks the third order from this customer, who is in the process of building out their production line for their specialty clean energy product.

This new order is not only the largest order Sono-Tek has received from the clean energy sector to date, but also the largest in the company’s history. The success of the R&D unit and the integration of Sono-Tek’s proprietary thin film application have contributed to the customer’s decision to continue placing orders.

Sono-Tek attributes the increased demand for its ultrasonic coating systems within the clean energy sector to funding from large-scale government initiatives. These systems are used in various applications such as carbon capture, hydrogen generation, fuel cell, and advanced solar energy.

The company expects that the higher average selling prices of these systems will benefit Sono-Tek in the coming years. Sono-Tek Corporation is focused on leveraging its innovative technologies, proprietary know-how, and global reach to further develop thin film coating technologies that provide better outcomes for its customers.
